Compressed Air Leak Detection

Compressed air is one of the most expensive utilities in any facility — and leaks can account for 20–40% of total air consumption. Using advanced ultrasonic detection technology, FM247 quickly pinpoints even the smallest leaks in complex systems, allowing repairs to be prioritised and energy losses reduced immediately.

The result is lower electricity costs, improved compressor efficiency, and extended equipment life.

Steam Trap and Leakage Surveys

Steam system losses can have a major impact on both energy performance and plant reliability. FM247/s detailed steam trap and leakage surveys identify failed or inefficient traps, providing clear data for maintenance teams to act on.

By restoring system balance, sites benefit from significant energy savings, improved heating and process performance, and reduced emissions — all supporting sustainability targets.

Thermographic Surveys

Infrared thermal imaging provides a non-intrusive method of identifying faults before they become critical. When applied to electrical systems, thermal imaging can detect overheating components, loose connections, and phase imbalances that may lead to equipment failure or fire — issues that are often missed during a standard EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report).

For mechanical and HVAC systems such as air handling units (AHUs), motors, and bearings, thermography highlights abnormal temperature patterns linked to wear, misalignment, or airflow restrictions, helping maintenance teams take corrective action before breakdowns occur. This supports maximum uptime, reduced downtime costs, and safer operation across the facility.

FM247’s clients gain access to data-driven insights and actionable reports that support energy conservation, reliability improvement, and compliance.

All surveys are carried out by qualified, accredited specialists using industry-leading equipment — providing confidence, accuracy, and measurable results.
